In my animal shelter, I would have sea otters, because sea otters restore coastal ecosystems, specifically by eating sea urchins to protect carbon-sequestering kelp forests.

To protect sea otters in a shelter, I can provide crystal-clear water to keep their fur clean, serve plenty of fresh seafood to fuel their high energy, and hide from the sight during feeding, so they stay wild enough to return to the ocean. Then we need a place to let them rests so I can make an artificial kelp for them to wrap around their body so they don’t drift away while sleeping along with dry platforms.

People should visit them because seeing sea otters in person helps us understand that these animals are not just cute, but they are the super hero of the ocean to protect it by keeping the ecosystem balanced.
