Keeping a Hamster

I have been excited about the Chinese New Year holiday for a long time, and now the year of the snake has finally come!
My grandparents have come to Hong Kong to spend the holiday with us. After we wished them good luck and health, they gave us lots of red packets. Mum cooked us a whole table of delicious food. I ate a lot and was too full to eat any fruit after dinner. I spent some money I received to buy a hamster. It runs on the wheel all day, and Dad says this reminds him of a Chinese New Year’s greeting word: May your goods flow like the wheel spins. Wow, this hamster responds to the Chinese New Year atmosphere so well! Everyone treats him like a new family member and loves watching him play! He brings so much joy and luck to us!

Wow! Amazing piece about your hamster. It reacts well to the Chinese New Year! Great sentence work and use of vocabulary. Keep it up, Sherry.
