The Amazing Person Who Inspired Me

The amazing person who inspired me to be a better person is Stephen Hawking. He is a great scientist who studied black holes. But he is also a person who cannot talk or move like we do. So, everything in his life seems ten times harder than ours. He is always on a wheelchair, and his head twitched to one side because he was diagnosed with major disease. He was born in 1942, in a family of physicians. But he passed away in 2018, at the age of 76, having lived more than 50 years following his diagnosis of motor neuron disease.
I knew about him because I like reading books, and I read about him when I was in 2nd grade. He was very sick with his disease. His only way to “talk” was twitching a muscle in his chin, so that his machine would speak for him. He had a very difficult and hard life, but he never gave up. Finally, he found out a lot about black holes, as it is a great achievement he ought to have.

I like his happy and “never give up” spirits, and that encouraged me whenever I feel nervous or when I fail. I remind myself that God had given me a body without diseases and disabilities, and so I should be a person who never give up until I reach my goals. I still feel sorry for Mr. Hawking because he deserved a healthy body that could help him more when he wants to learn and inquire. So, up to now, I still remember him well as a hero who inspired me.

Miss Chung’s comment:

Hi, Audrey,
Stephen Hawking is a famous scientist with disability. Still, he inspired us and made unique changes to the world. I am glad that you learn from his attitude and his motto. Don’t give up until you reach your goals! Add oil!
