The flying key and the key hole
Once upon a time there lived a door. It had a keyhole, and on the other side there was a flying key!
The door was noisy, but it wasn’t the door making the noise — it was the key and the keyhole; they were shouting about opening the door.
Near that door there was another door. It also had a keyhole and a flying key, and those two were best friends. One day a fairy came to the other door. She said to the key, “Can I come in?” The key nodded and opened the door. When she came in, she saw Totoro. She looked lonely, so the fairy said, “Today I will grant you one wish.”
“I wish I had a pet!” said Totoro. Then the fairy waved her wand and said, “Abracadabra!” Suddenly a rainbow appeared in the air and kept moving until it became a cat.
Totoro was so happy that she could keep playing all day! After that they went for a walk to see trees, lakes, and hills.
When they got home, they heard somebody arguing. They were so loud it could make someone dizzy! Oh no — the cat was about to faint. She was so dizzy that she tried to open the door but accidentally opened the wrong one. The cat could open the door, but the keyhole was very scared of cats. When he saw the cat’s paw he almost turned into stone with gems. The flying key was not scared of cats, though, so he could easily put himself back inside the keyhole. When the keyhole felt the key inside him, he was so angry he shouted, “HEY!”
When they opened the door, they saw a dog and the owner. Totoro and the cat were so happy. The cat said to the owner, “I’ve been looking for you for a long time!” “Me too,” said the owner. Then they hugged each other as hard as they could.
After that Totoro said, “I’ve been searching for you all the time!” “Me too! But I am so hungry,” said the dog. Finally, the keyhole and the key became best buddies. And they lived happily ever after.
Teacher’s comment:
The keyhole and the flying key finally became friends! What a creative story!
