The Secret Dragon Door
Once upon a time, there was a king walking in the forest with his knights. He was searching for something valuable. From far away, he saw a magic door with a glowing key lying on the ground.
The king thought, this door must lead to a magical place. He picked up the glowing key and opened the door. It shimmered with strange symbols and started glowing brighter and brighter as the key turned. The king and the knights dashed in and with a gush of wind, they landed in a dragon’s world. The king was shocked by all the enormous dragons and they quickly hid behind the bushes. The king whispered, “Do you see that beautiful dragon over there? Do you think it worths a lot of money?” The knight answered, “Yes! Look at all the golden scales on his back!”
The knight bravely climbed up the shiny dragon’s back and tried to pull the gold scale off but he pulled too hard. The poor dragon started to roar loudly in pain. The dragon leapt away into the forest, accidently taking the key with him.
The king cried, “That’s the key to go back home. We need it. I don’t want to stay here!” The brave knight said, “I’ll get it back. Don’t worry!”
The knight held a brightly lit torch and disappeared into the forest, Luckily, he found the dragon resting in the cave with the key beside it.
The knight tiptoed closer, grabbed the key and dashed away before the dragon could roar again.
He ran back to the king and shouted, “Let’s go back now!” They quickly used the key to open the door and ran as fast as they could.
When they returned to the castle, the knight noticed a piece of gold scale stuck on his armour. It must have fell off from the dragon’s back. He gave the piece of gold to the king. The king made a shiny new crown from it. In return, the knight was rewarded with a small piece of gold.
That night, the castle was tilled with laughter as the king wore his sparkling new crown and the knight cheered beside him.
Teacher’s comment:
This was a really magical and descriptive story! Do you think the king would ever want to sneak back to the world of the dragons?
