One day our English teacher, Miss Lee, gave us a homework assignment: to write a passage about which animal from the zoo we would take home as a pet. I would take a little squirrel.

Do you know why I chose a little squirrel? I chose a squirrel because I think squirrels are very adorable. A squirrel has grey and ochre soft fur that makes me want to hug it. A squirrel’s eyes are as small as a tree nut. Its tail is so bushy—I always stroke it because it is so soft and comfortable to touch. It often makes a cute face that makes me laugh.

I think the squirrel would always want to play with me because it is so energetic. It can play with me for three hours without resting. I love playing hide-and-seek with it. Sometimes when I have a vacation, I would take it out for a walk.

Squirrels are the loveliest animals in the world. I really hope I can keep a squirrel as a pet.
