Putonghua is one of the most commonly used languages in Hong Kong. The Putonghua programme in CPS is based on everyday experience, aims to nurture students ability to listen and to speak. Teachers would adopt multimedia technology, and activities like games, phonetics and role play, to encourage student using Putonghua as the medium of communication. To construct a more favorable language environment, the school has launched Putonghua assemblies, award scheme and challenging platform for our students. Since 2003, students in lower years can choose Putonghua as medium of instruction in Chinese lessons. And we have received positive feedbacks from parents.
