On the night of Christmas Eve, I was gazing at the crowded streets where people were celebrating Christmas, waiting for Santa Claus with lots of excitement. Last year, I could only have a glimpse of his shadow when he left my house. This year, I was determined to see his face, so I had to stay awake for the entire night.

While I was enjoying the Christmas music from the radio, an ear-splitting beep interrupted the beautiful melodies. A shocking announcement was played, “Emergency! Santa Claus is trapped in a chimney. Christmas will likely be cancelled. The children from all around the globe are gathering around the house on Sanrio Street in Kowloon, trying to save the well- loved present-giving old man, but they have no luck at all.”


Sanrio Street? That was where I lived! “My dearest Santa Claus, I’m coming to rescue you. Wait for me!” I shouted, then packed a lot of random stuff into my bag and dashed out of my house.
From far away, I could hear the desperate noises of the crowd. The children were hopeless – some crying, some sighing and some screaming. I looked around and saw that nobody had any tools. I went through the crowd near the house. Santa’s legs were dangling dangerously out of the chimney. Apparently, he was stuck upside down and a group of reindeer were weeping next to the chimney.

While everyone was panicking, I climbed up to the chimney with a foldable ladder. When I reached the roof, I took a microphone from my bag and shouted at the top of my lungs, “Ladies and Gentlemen, please lend a helping hand and pull this long rope together. Let’s save Santa Claus!” After my cheerful announcement, I tied Santa’s legs with the rope tightly and threw the other side of the rope to the crowd. Thousands of people all went out to fulfill their selfish wishes – getting Christmas presents from Santa.

Eventually, my dearest idol, Santa Claus, was rescued within five minutes. I stared at Santa with absolute amazement, feeling a flicker of satisfaction. I couldn’t believe my eyes, I saved Santa! It was incredible!
Christmas would definitely be delayed. However, Santa decided to plan a performance on the New Year of 2025 as a compensation. It will definitely be a fascinating ceremony to welcome the New Year! Do you agree?
