A Special Christmas Party

Yesterday, I thought I won a lucky draw prize at a Christmas party. It all started as a fun and exciting day. There were decorations, turkeys and many other things that made me feel excited.

At three o’clock, the lucky draw was about to start. The host pulled out the first ticket and called 5-2-3-4-1. Everyone looked at their tickets until I ran and held my ticket calling, “I got it! I got the ticket!” but from right under my nose, I was actually holding the wrong ticket! The number for the prize was 5-2-3-4-1 but mine was 5-2-3-1-4.

Under the stage, the whole crowd was clapping for me because I was the big winner. The host looked at the ticket and said, “No, you’re not the winner. You have the wrong ticket.” The crowd started to calm down. I asked who was the real winner but nobody answered. I could already feel the embarrassment from the bottom of my heart and thought please stop people, it was a mistake. I told myself I should just listen carefully and this would have never happened.

The host still gave me a small prize (squeaky).
