The Horrendous Night
The phone rang. “Hello,” I said. No one was there. I hung up. All the lights went out in a blink of an eye. I crept up to my room apprehensively and tried to find any source of light. But nothing, it seemed like all sources of light had just vanished into thin air. I kept searching around but couldn’t find a thing.
A few minutes later as I had checked every drawer, I saw a black shadow from the corner of my eye as I stood there transfixed. I ferret around to try to find any kind of weapons to defend myself. He walked forward rapidly holding a searing and honed knife as I saw blood dripping from it. I stood there petrified as I saw the prisoner outfit on the man, and I thought to myself that he was indeed a serial killer since all of them wore homogeneous clothes. I suddenly heard the lights turn on and I saw my dad with a white T-shirt that was dripping with orange juice because apparently my dad was cutting fruits when the power went out and he walked up to my room to try and clean his hands. He supposedly forgot to put down the knife. I was relieved and I went straight back to bed. What an eerie and mirthful encounter!
Impressive piece with a dab of humor. Great use of language and figurative language. Can’t wait to read your next masterpiece.
